Everyone has the right to freedom, the right to live, and the right to learn. We’re here to help survivors shape their future and begin the steps to complete sustainable freedom.

Our unique programmes are designed to support women by sharing essential life skills that build confidence, followed by skills development for future employment and education. These skills are crucial for living independently, finding work, and remaining free.

Over 12 months, our programmes help survivors develop various skills through in-person and remote group workshops, one-to-one sessions, remote learning, group coaching, work placements, access to training, and formal education.

COURSE BREAKDOWN

    • Resilience and Confidence Building

    • Pre-Employment prep: CV and Resume writing, and interview techniques

  • Access to Education, Volunteering, Apprenticeships, Placements and Employment.

  • We accept referrals from all over England. We have hubs for in-person sessions in London, Birmingham and the North. Our programme is a combination of in-person and online.

  • Workshops for emotional growth 
    10 weekly group and 1-2-1 sessions
    (remote via Teams and in-person).

  • Coaching and developing skills for employment and next steps. 8 weekly group and online sessions (remote on teams) 

  • Further upskilling - the choice of a pathway which suits your next step and goals: Digital skills for employment, Access to further education, Entrepreneurship and Experience building, including placements and volunteering. 

PARTICIPANT CRITERIA

Please note that we do not accept self-referrals.

ESSENTIAL

  • Female survivor of modern slavery and human trafficking

  • Age 18+, no upper limit

  • Medium verbal & written English comprehension​

  • Ready to plan for the future​

  • No self-referrals

NON-ESSENTIAL

  • National Referral Mechanism (NRM)

  • Conclusive Grounds Decision

  • Right to work

Self-referrals are not accepted. Please speak with your caseworker or support worker about submitting a referral on your behalf.

I am grateful for my caseworker referring me to [the Employability Programme]. It opens our eyes to so many things, not only to employment, but also how to think about tomorrow, having a career, or how to put ourselves out there. Learn about the things that I didn't know that I have within me. SHF and this programme feel like a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space, where we can be ourselves.
